Peninsula Sounds Launch
Saturday 28th September, 1pm
Join Wild Museum for the launch of Peninsula Sounds, a collection of interpretive artworks featuring the sounds and voices of Bursledon, Hamble and Hound.
At this launch event we will hear the artists talk about their audio artworks and experience of recording on the Hamble Peninsula.
After the talk Tim Shaw and Rose Ferraby will lead short walks on different routes, reconvening for a singing performance by Jennifer Reid.
Please note, Tim Shaw’s walk requires use of headphones (which will be provided) and places must be booked in advance.
The walks and performance are optional and attendees can leave after the talk finishes at 2:15pm.
We can give directions to the performance location if you would prefer to use your own transport and not join the walks
About Peninsula Sounds:
Funded by Developer’s Contributions for Public Art, Eastleigh Borough Council commissioned Wild Museum to build a sound archive for Bursledon, Hamble and Hound which responds to the history, culture and biodiversity of the area.
Throughout the summer Wild Museum have been creating audio recordings that explore and interpret the area’s past, present and future. This includes seasonal wildlife, conversations with residents, historic folk songs from the area and underwater explorations.
Wild Museum are a team of artists and sound recordists who work all over the world, and regularly broadcast on BBC radio & television.
